Meet the Orthodontist


Richard W. Chan, DDS, MS

Dr. Chan, a native of Kent, WA, received his dental degree from the UCLA College of Dentistry in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Chan received his orthodontic specialty training from the Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for adults and children. Dr. Chan has been trained in many modern techniques, including Invisalign, ceramic braces, and self-ligating braces including the Damon system. He has been trained in the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs), soft tissue lasers, and many other contemporary methods.

Dr. Chan is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Washington State Dental Association. family of dr richard chanDr. Chan is married and has three children. He and his family currently reside in Kirkland, WA where they enjoy spending time outdoors, being involved in the community and church, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Chan is committed to providing an excellent standard of care. His practice philosophy is to provide each person a great orthodontic experience, and to help them discover the smile they deserve. He enjoys the interaction with the patients and their families, working with a great team, and being a part of his patients' lives.
